Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve lies between Saptari and Sunsari districts in eastern Nepal. The Koshi Tappu Reserve covers the vast area of Koshi River delta.  It is considered as the major attraction of the safari tour destination to observe various endemic & exotic birds as well as rare wild buffaloes. The forest is the habitat of wild buffaloes, hog deer, wild boar, spotted deer jackals, and Gangetic Dolphin. The vegetation of this area is mainly tall Khar-pater grassland with a few patches of Khair-sissoo scrub forest and mixed type of deciduous river line jungle.
