Lhasa -Ganden-Samye Trekking
We organize 11 Days Tibet trekking from Ganden to Samye in Tibet. Explore alpine landscapes, sacred sites and nomad camps and see their nomadic lifestyle by doing Lhasa Ganden Samye Trek. The best season for this dream trek is from beginning of May to end of October, summer can be wet but the mountains are at their greenest and there will be more opportunity to enjoy the wildflowers during this time of year.
Day 1: Kathmandu to Lasha
today we will fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa, Goggar airport over the tallest mountains in the world. There we will be picked by our travel agents and dropped to our hotal. For the rest of the day we get time to acclimatize to the Lhasa’s High Altitude and time to get ready for the upcoming visit and treks.
Day 2, 3, 4: Potala Palace-Jokhang Temple-Jokhang Temple-Sera and Drepung monasteries
Lhasa is a pretty big city and it has loads of things to offer. It deserves at least three days of attention if someone wants to observe this city properly and we will spend three days here. During Lhasa visit we will be in the following places:
Potala Palace: political and religious center of Tibet, Potala Palace is one of the most beautiful monuments in Tibet. With 1000 rooms and 13 stories to explore this is probably the most popular tourist attraction in Tibet. Elegantly decorated with hundreds of Thangka paintings, frescos and images created hundreds of years ago the Potala Palace is a perfect example of how ancient monuments should be preserved.
Jokhang Temple: Jokhang temple which was constructed back in 7th century attracts hundreds of tourist every year. This temple has a very huge Sakyamuni Buddha statue and is considered the holiest place in Tibet.
Sera and Drepung monasteries: Sera and Drepung monasteries were founded in 1419 which are actually numerous white temples and Buddhist buildings in the foot of a rocky hill. Back in its days, Drepung monastery use to have 8,000 monks to teach traditions of Vajrayana, Mahayana, and Sutrayana, the three vehicles of Tibetan Buddhism. Norbulingka palace: constructed by the 7th Dalai Lama this Norbulingka Palace is not actually just one palace. This is a huge garden with numerous palaces built by many Dalai Lamas in a different period of time. Along with these places, we will be visiting the Barkhor Market with is probably the busiest place in Lhasa and offers anything you want to buy. Here you can pick up some Tibetan Souvenir for you and some gifts for your loved ones.
Day 5: Lhasa to Ganden
today we will drive from Lhasa to Ganden. Hereat Ganden we will visit the Ganden monastery and start Trek to The Hebu Valley. After trekking for a short time in beautiful Tibetan topography we will camp and that’s the end of our 5th day of the tour.
Day 6: Hebu valley Shogarla pass
after the breakfast in Hebu Valley, today we will trek from Hebu valley Shogarla pass. You can photo graph the Tibetan Plateaus in the sunset. We call it day and camp here.
Day 7: Trek from Shogarla pass to Gambala
today we will trek from Shogarla pass to Gambala. After the days trek we will rests at the river side and camp there for the night. You can have fun at the river side in the evening.
Day 8: trek from the river side of Gambala to Molong
this day we will trek from the river side of Gambala to Molong. After about 6-7 hours trekking we will call it a day and camp.
Day 9: trek from Molong to Samya
today we will trek from Molong to Samya. Reaching Samya we will visit the Samya monastery which happens to me one of most popular monastery in Tibet and one the 6 biggest Monasteries in Tibet. The same day after Samya monastery visit we will drive from Samya to Tsedang and rest at the hotel.
Day 10:explore Tsedang and visit Yambulakhang palace and Tandruk monastery
after the breakfast, we will have time to explore Tsedang and visit Yambulakhang palace and Tandruk monastery in the city. Again we will spend the night in Ttsedang.
Day 11: Drive to the Goggar airport
on the last day of our tour, we will drive to the Goggar airport according to the flight time and fly back to Kathmandu or other destination as you plan.

Flying out to Tibet requires a Chinese visa and a Tibet Travel Permit which can both be acquired in Kathmandu with the help of a travel company (Tibet via Nepal). A valid visa for China isn't the same as a Tibet Travel Permit. Those with a Chinese traveler visa will at present need to apply for a Tibet travel permit. The permit is still required for remote foreign traveler travelling to Tibet from territory China. To obtain the permit you have to book a guide for your whole trip and pre-organize private transport for trips outside Lhasa. The trip outside Lhasa likewise requires extra permits which are arranged by the travel agent you are going with.
All who intend to enter Tibet must hold at least 6 months valid passport.
Passport - valid for 6 months
Chinese Visa — you can apply for one from a Chinese Embassy or through China Highlights (who entry from China)
Group Visa — who entry from Nepal to Tibet after Tibet tour traveler can visit China mainland with valid group visa.
Individual Visa will be cancel when we apply for group visa (if visa is in the passport)
Tibet Entry Permit — it is issued by the Tibet Tourism Bureau and is an absolute necessity for outsiders entering Tibet.
A few people who wish to travel to specific areas in Tibet must also obtain:
Travel Permit — it is required when you are planning to movement to closed areas in Tibet. These are issued after you land in Tibet.
Military Permit — it is acquired to travel to some militarily sensitive regions.
The weather in Tibet is similar to that of Mainland China, though with lower temperatures due to higher altitudes. Summers have warm days with strong sunshine and cool nights, but summer days can even be chilly at higher elevations. Winters are cold but there isn't all that much snow. Lhasa enjoys much sunshine even in winter. Most of Tibet experiences frost at least 6 months of the year. Some high lakes are frozen from October to March. The weather varies a lot from region to region. Lhasa is an ideal destination because it is in a valley area of lower elevation.

Have at least 2 copies of Tibet Permit.
Keep your belongings properly.
When you feel uncomfortable due to altitude change or have any troubles, report to your guide promptly.
Never rush to visit attractions shortly after you arrive in Lhasa.
Shop around but avoid undue bargaining with street vendors and never buy wildlife and unknown Tibetan herbal medicine and fake products.
Take your money and important belongings with you all the time.
Spend few days in Lhasa for acclimation and always follow a gradual ascent when travelling to higher places to avoid attitude sickness.
Refrain from heavy drinking and smoking.
Respect the religion, customs and avoid taboos in Tibet.
Pay special attention to unique alpine climate (such as sunburn, dramatic temperature change, etc.)
Keep necessary medicines at the consult of your doctor.
Never travel alone at night or venture into unknown places without informing your guide.
In most places, cash is only accepted. Do prepare enough and small change.
If an emergency arises, report it to your guide promptly.
Don’t carry any documents or papers related to Dalai Lama or free Tibet.
We also recommend not carrying any guide book to Tibet.
