Chitwan Jungle Safari tour is one of the best jungle safari tour not only in Nepal but also in Asia. Chitwan National Park is probably Asia’s finest one which is located Nepal’s southern central part of Chitwan district. The park is established in 1973 A. D., covering 932 Sq. km in the subtropical lowlands of the inner Terai both Narayani and Rapti River banks east to west and Siwalik Hill (locally called Churia Hill) region of south. It is also country's first national park belongs to UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984. In early days before the national park establish the jungle was popular as hunting spot among Ranas and king family. Later in 1963 the area south of Rapti River was demarcated as a rhinoceros sanctuary to preserved rare one horned animal. Since by recognizing its unique ecosystems of international significance- in 1996 area of 750 Sq. km surrounding the park was declared a buffer zone and both national park and support the local people jointly initiated for community development activities and manage natural resources.
Royal Chitwan National Park was created in 1973. It's the oldest National park in Nepal. It's located in the south-west inner Terai lowlands of South-Central Nepal.
Inside the park lie on the Churia hills, ox-bow lakes, along with the flood plains of Rapti, Reu and Narayani Rivers. The Churia hills rise gradually towards the east out of 150m. elevation. The reduced but more rocky Someshwor slopes occupy the majority of the western section of the park. The flood plains of Chitwan include rich alluvial lands. The Narayani and Rapti Rivers have delineated the playground borders in the west and north, and also the Reu river and Someshwor hills at the south-west and south. It shares its southern boundary with the Parsa Wildlife Reserve.
There are more than 450 species of birds in the Park. Frequent birds seen from the Park inclde the peafowl, red jungle fowl, and different species of egrets, herons, kingfishers, flycatchers and woodpeckers. The best time for bird watching is March and December. Over 45 species of amphibians and reptiles occur in the Park, a few of which would be the marsh corcodile, cobra, green pit viper and various species of frogs and tortoises. The Park is actively engaged in the scientific research of many species of wild flora and fauna. There are more than 43 species of mammals in the Park. The Park is particularly renowned for its compromised one-horned rhinoceros, the tiger and the gharial crocodile. Additionally, it harbors endangered species like gaur, wild elephant, four-horned antelope, striped hyena, pangolin, Gangetic dolphin, monitor lizard and python. Other animals found in the Park include the sambar, chital, hog deer, barking deer, sloth bear, palm civet, langur and rhesus monkey.

Best Time to Visit
The park has a range of climatic seasons each offering a unique experience. In Autumn October through February with average temperatures of 25 degree celcius offer an enjoyable climate. From March to June temperatures can reach as high as 43 degree celcius, the hot humid days give way to the monsoon season that typically lasts from late June until September, Rivers become flooded and roads are impossible.
In late January, local villagers are allowed to cut thatch grasses to meet their need, which offers a better viewing of wildlife to visitors. September, November, February and April, migratory birds join the residential birds and create spectacular bird watching opportunities. While the monsoon rains bring lush vegetation, most trees flower in late winter. The palash tree, known as the "flame of the forest" and silk cotton tree have spectacular crimson flowers that can be seen from a distance.
